As the calendar races toward the end of the year, we set our sights on what 2021 will look like at our special place. Today, we have some tidbits and teasers for you.
Sneak Peek at the 2021 Calendar
Some of the highlights of next year’s calendar include, of course, several of our popular Open Houses. Begin now to introduce your reluctant friends that they might … just might want to consider coming to one of our open houses to see if it’s as “bad” as they imagine. Who knows, they just might decide they like it.
A first for the ‘21 season will be four or five Sunday afternoons set aside as a Woman’s day at South Beach. Our male members may, of course, also visit but they will be asked to confine their activities. We want to give women who may have considered trying Naturism the opportunity to do it without those fearful male prying eyes.
Another first for the ‘21 season will be some Full Moon Floats on the lake.
Of course, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day are always busy at our special place. The Board is working on a few special enhancements for these weekends. As they come into better focus, we will let you know.
Summer Festival
While all these activities will be fun, perhaps the best will be a Summer Festival being planned for the weekend of June 19. Dusty is bringing this into focus. So far, it will include music and a Naked Fun Run on our trails. We feel confident Dusty’s creative imagination will find other engaging activities to include. Mark the date on your calendar. You won’t want to miss this.
Polar Bare Plunge
Like icicles hanging from a dripping roof in Winter, anticipation is growing for our first annual Polar Bare Plunge. You will notice that we changed the name from Naked Ass Plunge announced in our last missive in deference to anticipated demands from media which we expect to have on hand for the event. We also changed the date to January 9 to allow for more participants.
This is a fundraiser. All money received at and for the event will be given to Breast Cancer Awareness. We will ask for a minimum donation of $20 from all participants and expect as much or more from spectators who do not take the plunge. All who venture into the water to at least the neck level will be recognized with a certificate. We have heard that some of those planning to participate are lining up sponsors. The participant who raises the most money for Breast Cancer Awareness will receive a special prize to be announced.
This will take place on North Beach. We will have a campfire for everyone to enjoy. Plus, the sauna will be available on a VERY LIMITED basis for participants, only. Masks will be required in the sauna.
If you plan to take part in this, please help our planning committee by registering at nude@lakeedun.com.
Membership Sale
Response to the 10% discount for renewing members has been good. Don’t miss this opportunity to save. Your membership expires on 02/13/18. If you take advantage of this, your membership will be extended for 365 days from that date.
The best part is the discount applies to last year’s memberships costs: $350/single; $425/couple. For those living over 125 miles from our special place, the cost was $275/single; $350/couple. If you renew and have fully paid prior to the first day of Spring, 2021, you may take the 10% discount.
This discount applies even if you make payments. It won’t get any better than this. Be sure to tell any friends interested in LEF about these great rates. If you have questions or wish to arrange to make payments, contact us at nude@lakeedun.com or just reply to this email.
Winter Warriors
We truly appreciate all Eduners who have expressed an interest in helping with the Winter Warriors. For those unsure, this is a group who gather periodically thru the winter months to complete some of the tasks more easily done when there are no ticks, chiggers, or poison ivy to contend with.
Some of the tasks we address every year is to cut the small Cedars which can be done with the clippers. Much easier than when they get bigger and require a chainsaw. We also try to take out a few of the large Cedars every winter. This year, we will also be working some on the North Beach project. When conditions are appropriate, we send an email to only that small group. The work is not too strenuous and the comradery is excellent.
Gary, you are NOT signed up for the Winter Warriors. If you would like to be added to the list, please reply to this email. We truly appreciate all those who help.
Evening Bon Fires
We know of a few evenings when a small groups of Eduners gathered to enjoy a quiet evening in front of a bon fire on North Beach. These are always on short notice when conditions are favorable. If you would like to be notified of a bon fire or would like to organize one, please let us know. We’ll try to put like minded Eduners together.
