Even with the rain, this has been a busy week. Spring continues to try to locate our Special Place so we’ll be ready for sunshine in the coming Sumer months. Still, there is much going on.
Volunteer Coordinator Identified
Dylan contacted us about serving as our volunteer coordinator this season. He is familiar with most of the tasks required and enthusiastic about spending the season with us.
He will be an excellent person to coordinate the activities of our members interested in helping out. We’re looking forward to having Dylan on our team this year. He will begin in earnest mid-May and expects to be on hand some days with his wife and children.
Be sure to introduce yourself to Dylan on your next visit.
Working Memberships
It takes a great deal of effort to care for 65 acres of beautiful Kansas countryside. While our caretaker does much, there are many additional tasks requiring attention which cannot be addressed by any single individual. That is why we offer our members this opportunity to save money on their memberships.
If you are interested in becoming more familiar with all the requirements to keep our fantastic facility in tip-top shape, and saving $100, consider a working membership. Our Volunteer Coordinator will direct your efforts.
In return for agreeing to either taking on a specific task or assisting a minimum of 10 hours throughout the year helping in other ways, you can save $100 on your membership (or renewal).
If this is something you might find interesting and rewarding, talk with Chris or any member of the board.
Last Week’s Workday
We had a good crew on hand last Saturday for our work day. With a full compliment of volunteers and decent weather, we accomplished much. And it was an opportunity for some Eduners to meet Dylan
Top of the list was to remove the brush volunteers have been clearing during the Winter months from the meadow in front of the barn. We also spent time working on the Cedar trees and some other tasks. Thanks to all who assisted.
